In New York Times, Ross Douthat (September 5, 2015) article; “Who Failed Aylan Kurdi?”, assets that this civil war could have been prevented from ever happening and having all this refugees fleeing their homes, risking their lives, crossing seas and deserts, just to be safe from the horror in their home town. Ross Douthat develops the article by stating the truth of why all this refugees are fleeing their homes. This article connects the life of a mother and her two children who were found dead on a Turkish beach. This article's relationship with the audience by informing the people with the situations that are not only deadly but corrupt.
Ross Douthat gains credibility by not keeping this catastrophe behind bars, but letting people know that this needs to come to an end. I would say that Douthat’s sources are trusted by people, because they are well developed. Douthat has good intentions by informing the public of the situation that will be changing the way we view America. Ross Douthat wants his audience to feel, disappointed with our nation we are the cause; that a civil war is taking place as we speak causing immigrants to leave their homes, and find of a place where their is no violence among them. The author wants the reader to realise that many countries are doing nothing to help the refugees and some countries don't want them near them. After reading this article I have realised that our lives are important, but look around our lives in america are perfect compared to the children that have nothing leaving their home and everything they own behind, just to have the opportunity to live for one more day.
